Located in the TriBeCa East Historic District of Manhattan, 14 White Street is a 30,000 SF ultra passive house, mixed-use six story building clad in a distinctive patinated etched bronze rain screen panel. The property is bound by White Street to the South and Sixth Avenue (Avenue of the Americas) to the East.
With the original exterior concept design by DXA studio and NAVA with an elegant interior design by NAVA, KURV Architecture DPC was brought onboard to take the project over as Architect of Record in 2024. KURV redrew and re-coordinated the entire building in BIM while it was under construction and is currently administering the project’s construction process.

Construction topped out on 14 White Street in March of 2024, and scaffolding and blue netting currently cover the entire building, which has been framed out and enclosed with waterproofing and insulation boards in preparation for the final facade. Crews are now beginning to install the windows on the lower levels, and facade work could potentially follow closely behind. The building will house two units per level on floors two and three, followed by full-floor units on floors four and five, and one Duplex unit on the sixth and penthouse stories. The upper condominium unit will be a penthouse with private outdoor space.
8 units ranging in size from 1,200 SF two-bedrooms up to 4,000 SF 4 bedrooms will occupy the floors above the 3,000 SF retail space at and below grade.

Subtle references to qualities of the district are made throughout the design, deriving the proportions, cadence and textures found on many of its neighbors. The facade panels are etched with a pattern of diamonds, giving the exterior a distinctive texture. The pattern of the large floor to ceiling windows is based on a parametric gradient. In other words, the windows are smaller at the center of the building and expand in size as they move horizontally and vertically away from the center and base of the building. This means that no two windows in the project are the same size.
The renderings depict 14 White Street with a design that presents a contemporary take on the neighborhood’s cast iron aesthetics. The facade is composed of floor-to-ceiling glass and angular bronze-hued paneling with columns of varying widths. The ground floor will feature a contrasting gray finish, and a shallow bulkhead is visible above the roof-line.
Hardware, appliances, flooring, wall coverings and material finishes are all carefully selected to feel bespoke, high quality and unique.
It was important to NAVA & KURV that the result of this work manifest into something that would deeply connect with the end user and sustain relationships with the consumers of this space.
